About the Founder
Austin Robbins – Founder, Fjord Form
The roots of Fjord Form began long before the business had a name. I grew up surrounded by craftsmanship—watching my father and grandfather in their workshops, restoring old pieces and building new ones with care and creativity. Some of my earliest memories are from our basement in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, working side by side with my dad on handcrafted wooden items while my mom hand-painted each one with detail and heart.
My grandfather, a true mastermind of restoration, was always immersed in projects in his basement workshop. Every visit turned into a lesson in tools, techniques, and history—lessons that shaped my understanding of quality and character in woodworking. Both my father and grandfather involved me in restoring and updating our 1800s family home, nurturing a deep appreciation for historical architecture and the stories it carries.
I officially started my woodworking business in 2012, initially focused on furniture. Over time, my work evolved into custom cabinetry and architectural millwork, with a special focus on historic restoration. In 2017, my wife and I moved to Johnstown, Pennsylvania from Lancaster County. We’re now raising our son—who, at just five years old, already shows the same spark for building that inspired me decades ago.
My wife and I are active members of West Hills Community Church, and our Christian faith is the foundation that carries us through the highs and lows of both life and business. We are thankful for the grace of Jesus Christ and the sacrifice He made so that we may live with hope and purpose.
At Fjord Form, every cabinet, molding, and detail reflects that heritage—crafted with reverence for history and a commitment to excellence.
